Sikorski Saga

Kyla gave Tim's office cookies and they gave her germs. She hasn't been feeling well for the last week, so here's your big update. Luella showing off the dress Grammy got her. Sorry Maren, Baby Ella got the dress you got her messy before we could get a picture. Tim and his high school buddy, David Bailey. We only lived an hour apart until Dave and his wife, Jessica, moved this week to Colorado. Thanks for inviting us to your going away party! Dave, Bailey, and Luella getting to know each other. Luella and Bailey became friends by the end of the night. Luella tried making a phone call. What are the chances she'll dial 911? Tim saw an ambulance leaving our court this morning with lights flashing and thought it might have been Bugs calling. We all thought she was crawling after the cat... turns out it's Kyla's shoes!

Their Irish eyes are smiling! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Tim made green shamrock pancakes! No, Kirsten, we didn't dye the milk green. Kyla made corned beef and cabbage! Luella decided to pet Goobers! Goobers said, "I don't think so." Luella decided to crawl after Goobs ! She got about a foot before she fell over!

Luella doesn't like pureed green beans. (I don't blame her.) Luella rolled around and flipped over her mat. She thinks it's almost more fun as a sail than a mat! (The flash is bright, so we're having trouble getting her to smile and not squint.)

Luella is 17 pounds 15 ounces! She was 28 inches the first time and that put her off the growth chart. The doctor measured her again after asking who her tall parents were (Tim and I are not exactly tall) and she came in at 27.25 inches long. That puts both her height and weight at the 90 th percentile. She got her shots again and after an obligatory cry, she stopped when I gave her a bottle. We are looking forward to picking up the Baby Einstein's "My 1st Signs" DVD. A few different friends have taught us a few words and Luella has already picked up the sign for milk! We're still really learning what it means because she signs for milk when she wants it and half way through her bottle when she's really full. It's amazing watching her learn. She is so observant, taking in the whole world. Tim asked her yesterday if she was going to be Dr. Sikorski and she just might. She really loved playing with the doctor's stethoscope today. She might grow up like her...

Luella getting ready for her bath. Uncle Bill and Aunt Lori sent the cute robe. Tim and Kyla thought it was funny just how many of their relatives have nearly the same names! Luella loves bath time! How do babies get so flexible? Kyla just missed taking the picture when she was eating her toes. Awww ... don't tell me bath time is over.

Luella eating plums looks like lipstick! The kind Mimi from the Drew Carey show wore! Look! Luella can sit by herself for seconds at a time! It's only seconds at a time... She's trying hard to pull herself back up into a sitting position!
