Day One of our Two Day Playdate (4/21/11)

This week is Spring Break for Luella's preschool. Kyla didn't have anything planned. She asked Luella what she wanted to do and it was "Spend the night in a hotel with a swimming pool." Kyla decided it's been awhile since we saw our friends in Maryland, let's stay in a hotel there! We met up with the Jackson's and got to meet Ian Alexander for the first time! He's such a sweet little boy! Kyla took this picture while holding him. Auntie Ginger came to visit us visiting the Jackson's ! Ginger and Ian had a great time getting to know each other! We went to the playground right outside of the Jackson's house. Our girls were used to a little warmer weather than the quick 2 hour drive north provided. The girls had fun flying in the swings and playing in the forest (about 10 trees planted near the playground). After the playground, we went to Chili's for dinner. The girls tried queso dip with their chips and even though it was a little spicy, ...

Spring has sprung (4/20/11)

We planted the tulips we sponsored for last year's Easter service. They are even more vibrant than last year! Kyla loves how perennials come back without much effort on her part! Kyla bought a rhubarb plant (for Uncle Phil's love of rhubarb pie) last summer in Minnesota. It survived the winter! We just might have pie later this summer! The Easter lily Kyla sponsored and planted from last year's Easter service is coming back too! No lily trumpets in time for Easter Sunday. Last summer Kyla bought a Topsy Turvey strawberry planter and had one extra strawberry plant, so she planted it in the flower garden in front of the house. It's coming back too! Kyla took everyone to get their hair trimmed for Easter. Luella is looking really cute! Kati surprised us all when she asked for bangs with this (her second) hair cut! Like her sister, she looks much older with bangs! The girls love coordinating their outfits these days! They are adorable on this fabulous spring day!

We are starting a band! (4/18/11)

Our piano teacher, Annemarie Landry, rearranged her living room to put all the musical instruments she owns in one room. She owns a complete drum set. Kati was extremely excited when Ms. Landry let her play drums at the end of our piano lessons!

That's HOT! (4/16/11)

Kyla baked a batch of Lemon Chillers from Luella's preschool fundraiser. Kati knew the cookies were too hot to touch, so she put on oven mitts to pick up the cookies to eat them. She found out seconds later, if they're too hot to touch with fingers, they are too hot to eat!
