Almost not homeless!

We got to Maryland on December 11 th and spent the week looking at rentals. We didn't think we could afford to buy after our trip in October. After we finally decided which townhouse to rent, our realtor had us look at one last townhouse to buy. We decided to go for it! It is a slight fixer-upper, but mostly cosmetic stuff. The kitchen is the first thing we'll fix - especially the mint-lime green cabinets. Didn't think that mint and lime green could be in the same color, but somehow they are. All Kyla's time watching HGTV and TLC while pregnant is going to come in handy while sprucing up the place! The townhouse complex looks like it could be a good neighborhood. We have a community pool and playground just past our parking lot. We checked and there are no sex offenders on our street. Our realtor said we were the first couple to check that before buying in all his 20 years of real estate sales...and one of 4 couples who read the contract while sitting there. We should...

On The Road - Still...

We are winding down our "moving vacation". Tomorrow we will be driving out to Maryland and hopefully have a place to settle within the week. We spent Thanksgiving with Kyla's family in Minnesota. Highlights were seeing the Macy's display (Mary Poppins) and Holidazzle parade with Kirsten, Peter, Isaac, Maren, Anna and Laura; Thanksgiving dinner with all the Grunnets and Rasmussens ; Luella's baptism and a reception for the 21 people who attended; the Concordia College Christmas Concert with Luella's first babysitters, Kyla's cousins Kris and Angela; visiting Kyla's ROTC at NDSU , an early family traditional Scandinavian Christmas Eve Dinner and presents; visiting with Kyla's freshman year roommate Abby; Chicago's Navy Pier, Wrigley Field and visiting with Katie and Matt; and Georgette and Dan's wedding shower. Tim and Luella got to see North Dakota for the first time and reactions ranged from, "I've had pancakes with more terrain ...

Two Months Old!

Image
Luella had her 2 month check up and is still growing like a weed! She is now 24 inches long (2 feet!) and 12 pounds 3 ounces. That means she's gained almost 5 pounds since she was born...but still 5 pounds under the cat! Here Luella is trying to be sad but Mom and Dad keep making faces at her. It's so hard to be sad when everyone is so silly!

Happy Halloween!

Image
Mom and Dad say Halloween = Candy! That makes Luella one happy baby! One tired kitty cat. Trick-or-treating is tough work. The two Sikorski kitties! Daddy/Daughter 1st Halloweens! Tim and Luella (7 weeks), Ken and Amelia (9 months) Attaway

Did you know there is a castle in Missouri? A beautiful fall sunset at the castle for the Sikorski family!

Luella all dressed up for her first professional photos. She's in the same dress that Kyla wore for her first professional photos. Luella ready for her close up! Too bad the pictures aren't scratch and sniff because Luella smells good!

Back by popular demand!

Luella looks bigger when she can sit up, but Goobs is still a big kitty. Goobs and Luella are getting closer!

Luella's next huge week!

Luella had a huge week. She went on her first airplane ride as she accompanied Mom and Dad to Baltimore and Washington DC. She got to meet her Great-Uncle Phil in Washington DC, and go on a tour of the nation's Capital courtesy of Senator Conrad Burns (R, MT) staff. Luella will probably be the only kid in her class to claim to have her diaper changed in the Capital washroom. The next day, Luella, Uncle Phil, and Kyla cheered Tim on as he ran in the Army Ten Miler. After a hearty lunch and saying farewell to Uncle Phil, Luella helped Tim and Kyla go house hunting in Aberdeen, Maryland. After two long days of looking at houses in Aberdeen, she accompanied Mom and Dad for a romantic seafood dinner at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The day after her flight home, Luella got to meet her Grandpa Sikorski and Uncle Adam (aka Uncle Ralphie ) for the first time. They saw the St. Louis Arch, and had fun hanging out together. Luella, her Grandpa, and Uncle got along famously, and if I don'...
