Luella and Kyla spent a quiet day switching hotels and avoiding the AFRAN festival. They took a ferry boat ride on the Elizabeth River for something to do. Uncle Phil, Mark and Tim fishing for Striped Bass (aka Rock Fish) on the Chesapeake Bay. Uncle Phil, Tim and Mark holding up most of the day's catch. They caught 10 fish, but threw 3 back since they were much smaller. Here's all 7 fish they caught! Tim caught the biggest fish of the day. As he told Kyla, "I caught you a delicious bass!" Tim also caught the second biggest fish of the day and this one is pretty! Mark Yeary with a big fish. Uncle Phil with a big fish! Tim's biggest fish is even bigger than Luella! She really didn't like the caught fish. She likes them in the water and on her dinner plate, but not in between . Cap't Bill showing Tim how to fillet a fish. Tim trying his hand at filleting the fish. We split the fish and ended up with an unofficial 16.5 pounds of fish fillets. The guys proba...

Kyla, Luella and Uncle Phil playing in the surf of the Atlantic Ocean! Kyla and Luella smiling between waves. Look Mommy! Wet sand! Kyla and Luella dancing in the Atlantic Ocean. Funny, it's both their first times playing in the Atlantic. True, Kyla's flown OVER the Atlantic four times, but this is her first time IN the water! Same story for Tim too with his six flights! Happy Anniversary Uncle Phil (and Aunt Becky who was too ill to make the trip). Luella can now tell you that is a sailboat behind Uncle Phil. Luella chilling on the beach. Okay, really trying to warm up from the really cold water. Tim showing Luella how to make a sand castle. Luella showing Tim how to destroy sand castles. Luella in Tim's flip-flops. Time to bury Uncle Phil in the sand! Luella loving the playground at the beach!

Look what Tim did!

Tim started the day making us blueberry pancakes - with his s ous chef Luella, of course! Tim finally had enough dry weekend weather to finish the table and benches! Luella modeling the table from the side view. We even decided to have dinner there tonight! We figure it can hold four adults comfortably on each side, but this Snuggle Bunny loves her Daddy! Daddy's hat!

Introducing Katja Johanna Sikorski

Image
Here is Katja ! She's still a girl, according to the 3D/4D ultrasound. Look at that sweet smiling face, little hands and crossed feet! The tech said she was breech. If she doesn't turn around in the next 90 days, Kyla thinks she'll be really thankful that she chose the scheduled c-section around August 12 th . ( Katja is pronounced KAW - te -ah/KAT-yah, but only in two syllables . Johanna is pronounced JO-hah-nah.) Here you can see her eyelashes! The tech said she definitely has hair, but it's probably blonde like Luella's and it doesn't show up in these photos. Kyla has the heartburn to confirm baby hair. Katja is blowing kisses to the camera! She has such a sweet face! (And her mommy's and sister's nose!) Maybe she has a headache! High five! Yep, all five digits accounted for on this hand! Whispering secrets, and showing off that she has all five digits on her right hand!

The Great-Grandmas' Mother's Day present!

Image
Kyla found a great card for Mother's Day. It said, "In honor of Mother's Day, I made you a batch of double fudge brownies." Open it, "You would have loved them!" So Kyla thought it'd be fun to do a picture montage of Luella making double fudge brownies for Mother's Day! Kyla's posting it now since the Great-Grandma's don't really check this site all that often! I have all my ingredients! Ah Mom! Do I really need this apron? Adding the dry ingredients! One ingredient in, need to stir! Add the wet ingredients! Quality control! Mommy let me lick the bowl and spoon! I even help with the dishes! Playing on my slide while waiting for the brownies to bake. Mmmmm! Those smell yummy! These brownies really are great! You would have loved them!

Happy Mother's Day!

Luella with the flowers she got Kyla for Mother's Day. Kyla also got a milkshake machine. Her big Mother's Day present will be Wednesday when we do a 3D/4D Ultrasound of the new baby. Of course, Elmo needs corn and mashed potatoes too! Cheers!
