Brush fire!

Image
Tim was grilling and some kids came out of the woods running behind our house saying that the woods were on fire. Just as Tim asked if anyone called the fire department, they showed up. The utility truck drove behind our house to get to the fire. The fire truck couldn't get back behind the house, so they just unrolled the hoses and walked them out to the fire. About six fire fighters walked the hoses out and put out the fire. It took all of 15 minutes from the time they showed up to the time they left. Thank God it wasn't a bigger fire!

Katja found the same pleasure in walking along the back of the couch as Luella did at that age/stage! Just as long as the gate is over the outlets, we're having a great time!

Cute girls!

One little monkey was jumping on the bed. She fell and hit her head on a window of her house. Luckily she didn't see the blood and didn't want to go in for stitches, so we hope Neosporin and band-aids keep it from scarring horribly. She's in good spirits and showing off her mustache! Katja laughing and crying all at the same time!

Wednesday, July 15th

This week was Change of Command marathon week. Wednesday was B Co, 22 nd Chemical Escort where MAJ Wayne Hale left the company. Tim was his Executive Officer. Immediately following was C Co, 22 nd Chemical Escort, where Tim was a Team Leader. Thursday was LTC Matt Mingus' Change of Command. He was the Battalion Commander of those companies (aka Tim's boss's boss) and Tim still worked with him when his Soldiers got in BIG trouble. Wednesday afternoon, Kyla got a new haircut. She was prepping for Tim's Change of Command, which was originally scheduled for Friday, but now it's Thursday, July 30 th .

We finally pulled out the wading pool this summer. The girls loved splashing! Motorboat, motorboat go so fast! Wouldn't a slip and slide be so much fun?! I think we need a bigger pool. After trying apples a few more times without a rash, we tried something else with cinnamon. Looks like it's a contact rash to the cinnamon.

Walking! (with a couch)

Katja's walking along the furniture now too!

Happy 5th of July!

Edgewood had a parade and our church had a float. Luella got to wave a flag in the "little church with a big heart" our church's nickname. Mostly done decorating and waiting for the parade to start. Tim's view of the parade with Kyla and Katja waving from the back of the float. After the parade, we drove up to Havre de Grace to watch the fireworks over the Chesapeake Bay. Giggly girls! Luella and Tim hugs! Katja getting her favorite variety of raspberries! Luella watching the fireworks and covering her ears from the booms. Katja a little concerned watching her first fireworks display. We think it's cool that both girls got their first fireworks displays in Havre de Grace. Oooo ! Ahhh ! Luella upset that we didn't get her glow-sticks or necklaces or light sabers from the vendor right next to us. Ginger found us half-way thru the fireworks display and helped Luella with her grumpy face.
