Sleepover with the Haberer's and Dinner with the Danczyk's

Image
We drove up to the Haberer's farm near Elbow Lake to visit Kyla's former co-worker Lisa at Upper Missouri Ministries Bible Camp. We've both grown up and expanded our families a lot since 1998 and 1999! Here's our youngest's - Katja and Abby. Lisa has a middle Timothy who was super cute and shy. Our oldest's Emma and Luella got along like peas in a pod! They became fast friends and forever "butt pump" girls. It's like a high-five, only with their butts. Silly girls! Timothy was sweet enough to drive this farm princess to her next ball. Nothing runs like a Deere! Emma took her own transportation to the ball. Lisa, Kyla and Abby before the Sikorski girls had to go back home. Thanks for a great visit! Too bad we didn't get any pictures of Randy. A quick side trip before dinner with the Danczyk's , we stopped at Donna's house to check out our photos. Donna has 4 girls ages 8, 6, 4, and 2. Katja played in the sandbox wit...

Cold Stone Birthday (8/20/10)

Katja enjoying her Cold Stone ice cream birthday creation. Kyla let her pick it out and thought it was hilarious Katja seemed surprised every time she found an M&M!

Summer sewing projects (8/19/10)

Image
Kyla brought sewing projects from Virginia and now that we're about a week from going home, Kyla needs to start them! Here are the two quilt tops for Luella and Katja's new blankets. Luella chose the ballerinas and purple fabric. Katja has the pink with castle blanket.

Fun afternoon with the cousins (8/17/10)

Image
We borrowed Maren's best friend Haley for a fun afternoon playing at the playground and mini-golf. Katja thought Maren and Haley had the right idea rolling down the hill. Haley, Katja , Maren and Luella playing on the shaky bridge. Anna and Katja playing on the roller slide. Katja was on here forever! Isaac playing with Maren and Haley in his own way - throwing sand at them. Maren's caddies giving her mini-golf advice. The course had a pretty waterfall that completely freaked Katja out. Kirsten trying to sink this last put with help from Anna. Caddy Katja was laying down on the job.

Earrings, No Please.

Same deal with Katja , as soon as she asks for earrings on her own, she will get them. We thought today (8/18/10) was the day, but "Earrings, no please."

Nature walk at River Bend 8/15/10

Image
Luella and Katja standing in a waterfall. Karen's view of Kyla taking the girls into the waterfall. Yes, end of summer means not much water in the waterfall. Dan came out with the girls to the waterfall. Here is the bend in the river, which is how it got it's name River Bend Nature Center. The waterfall is about 5 miles away from the river and is a little tributary to this big river. At the turtle pond, trying to spot turtles. We did see a few swimming, but not many and the video looked like we were trying to find the Loch Ness monster.

Garage Sale Fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Marathon for the Cure

Image
Kyla enlisted the help of Isaac and Maren to help make signs for the garage sale on 8/14/10. Kyla is running the Marine Corps Marathon on Halloween raising funds for the Susan G. Komen Marathon for the Cure breast cancer research. We had the coolest signs of the day with the pink ribbons! Lucky us happened to also catch the weekend the whole street decided to do garage sales, so we had lots of traffic. The morning started with a lot of fog and lookers. Dad was in charge of coffee and donuts , along with setting up the tent and pulling out the sales items. Thank you to Nelson's grocery store for donating day-old baked goods for our free-will donation. Here is our cool donation bucket with all our left over pink pricing stickers. Showing a soon-to-be-grandma how to fold up the pack-n-play. Bank teller Karen was in charge of the monetary transactions. We even pulled out the play cash register she gave Anna to use! Katja was there for the cute factor. Our garage sale abou...
