Monday, March 30th and Tuesday March 31st

Tim, Luella and Katja on the metro going to DC. Peek-a-boo Katja!

We met Uncle Phil for lunch!

We spent Monday afternoon at the Natural History Smithsonian Museum. They had a display on Korea. Tim was there less than a week before! Here's their wedding attire.

Luella wanted a picture of her, Katja and Daddy in the mammal section.

Kyla's favorite section of the museum was the orchid display. Luella took the time to smell the flowers.

Kyla and Luella admiring the cherry blossoms.

Katja slept through the cherry blossoms.

The girls got to pet the Park Police Horse.

Kirsten's life long goal was to see the cherry blossoms. She's taking them all in!

The blue sky with pretty pink cherry blossoms.

The tidal basin and cherry blossoms.
Tuesday we went to the American History Museum. The featured display was the flag that flew over the Baltimore Harbor, inspiring Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner. They didn't let us take pictures of the flag.

A demonstration went on to show how big the flag really was. You can see the blue square and the kids are holding up one stripe.

Here is the first "sit-in" peace demonstration booth to unify white and black Americans.

Mrs. Taft's inaugural gown. Her donation of this dress started the First Ladies dress exhibit and is the most popular.

Luella tripped trying to see into a doll house. The security guard let her wear his hat to help her stop crying. Maybe this summer she'll get to ride a Dumbo ride at Disneyland with her Grandpa Mike and Uncle Adam.

Her favorite exhibit was Oscar the Grouch.

Here's Abe Lincoln's hat that he wore the night he went to the play and was assassinated.

Kyla pointing out to Luella the Presidents whom her G'G'Pop (Great-Grandpa Tim McIntyre) served while in the Secret Service. Some he was personal security, others he was in the field.

In 36 years, the next President of the United States of America, Katja Sikorski! Okay, I really wouldn't wish that on her if she didn't want it.

A few years before Katja, Maren Grunnet, Madame President!

L'Enfant Plaza. Uncle Phil works in the tan building. The arch thing goes over the metro stop. The glass building is where we met Uncle Phil for lunch and cocoa before going home on Tuesday.

Kyla on the phone with Dad, drinking her cocoa. Maren drinking her water.

Uncle Phil took my phone to talk to dad - his brother.

Have to end the day with metro riding pictures. Kyla, Luella, Katja and Maren.

That night Katja stood by herself for a few seconds.
