New Year's brings a new bed and chocolate! (1/1/11)

Image
Daddy love in the form of carpentry. Tim finished the big girl bed he made for Kati! He assembled it in her room today! Kati is thrilled for her new bed and the chance to help Daddy put it together! It's a castle and halfway through being assembled! The girls love the new "toy" in their room. Since it's so cold out in the garage where Tim made Kati's bed, we decided to wait until the weather warmed up to paint the details on her bed. Kati took the wall stickers and decorated her bed. It's perfect for a nap! THANK YOU DADDY! I LOVE MY NEW BED! Thank you kisses for Kati's perfect castle bed! The girls' room with two Tim built beds! For dessert tonight we had chocolate fondue. We planned to have it New Year's Eve, but the cheese fondue was way too filling! (Hi Dan and Karen! We were talking on the phone.) Luella really gets into her chocolate!

Tim deployed to Ramadi, Iraq (where Kyla was stationed September 2003 – September 2004) for 8.5 months as an Information Operations Officer. Ramadi changed a lot since Kyla left. They now have a Subway and a coffee shop! Tim couldn’t say a lot about his days, just that he went to meetings, exercised, and ate. He did make the most of his deployment by making a lot of new friends and learning his new trade, and he really appreciated all of the support from everyone at home. Back home, Luella started 3-year-old preschool in the Red Birds class with Mrs. Couture. There she met her best friend Paige Roden! We’ve really enjoyed getting to know Paige and her family thr...

Tim the Hunter. (12/30/10) Fun-do Fondue! (12/31/10)

Tim took up hunting this fall. The deer were elusive , so on the last day Tim shot a squirrel. He dressed it and cooked it for us to try. Here we give our opinions of Tim's kill. It tastes like dark meat chicken. We had cheese fondue for New Year's Eve dinner. We were going to have chocolate fondue for dessert, but this was very filling. We've moved to the stage of life where we need two pictures of the girls to get them to look at the camera!

Luella and Goobers waiting for the Children's Christmas Eve Service. After worship, we came home and had the Jurist's from Maryland and Uncle Phil and Aunt Becky over for our traditional Scandinavian Christmas Eve Dinner. The girls loved being at their own little kids' table! The big kids' table with Kyla, Becky, Phil, Liam, Diana and Jeff. Tim read the girls "Twas the Night Before Christmas" before we got all ready for Santa. Santa got Santa cookies and a mug of milk and the reindeer got carrots. Big smiles from Aunt Becky and Uncle Phil. Too bad Liam fell asleep before our pj photo. The Sikorski's . The Jurist's. Sarah was so excited for her first Christmas and Santa experience that she slept on the stairs! She was too cute telling us all that her family celebrates Hanukhah and Thanksgiving!
