Playdate with the Evers (4/13-14/11)

Image
Paige brought down Sigrid and Soren for an overnight playdate ! We had pancakes, eggs and bacon for brunch and then dyed Easter eggs! Paige read about using wire whisks for egg holders. We tried and ended up mostly using our fingers. BFF's Luella and Sigrid love dyeing eggs! Kati loves dyeing eggs too. Yellow is her new favorite color. Soren , didn't like sitting to dye eggs. He can run now, don't fence him in! Paige got to dye a few eggs after the girls and Soren left the table. Here are the Sikorski's finished eggs. Here are the Evers ' finished eggs. As Sigrid's egg says, "I love dyeing eggs!" A few close ups of the ones we wrote on (this one Luella actually dyed at preschool). Kyla's egg says "Eat Me!" Luella's egg says "Happy Easter!" We watched and then danced to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then outside to play! Kati loves the tricycle, even though she calls it her bicycle. Luella and Sigrid made some bea...

Impromptu Fashion Show (4/12/11)

Image
Luella's best friend has grown out of her clothes, so they were given to us! We feel so blessed! Laura giving us a big bag of clothes while at dance class today inspired Luella to have an impromptu fashion show. Strong girl! Katja wanted in on the fashion show too. She got a few items today, but most were for Luella. This swimsuit probably fits Luella better! Laura wasn't kidding when she said she had a lot of swimsuits to give the girls! This swimsuit was the only one in Kati's size, and it's still a little too big! Hello Kitty! Luella got this pinwheel from a boy in her class. Aiden is her new "boyfriend" and his mom had wrapped the pinwheel up in tissue paper like a boquet of flowers! In Luella's words, "Aiden used to be a bad boy, but now he's a good boy!" Earlier in the year he would get a lot of time outs for using bad words and hitting, etc. Since Luella won't play with him when he's bad, but will when he behaves, the te...

Katja the Cutie Pie! (4/12/11)

Image
Today Katja got her dance recital costume! The catalog picture came with butterfly wings that weren't in with the costume today. The song the girls are dancing to is a song about tutus and tiaras, so the girls may be wearing tiaras during the recital. We posed this picture with one of Luella's tiaras. The back view. That random pink flower is a barrette. Mrs. Rebecca told us to keep it attached to the costume until picture day so we don't lose it. Sitting pretty! All smiles! Twirls! FREEZE! Such concentration pointing those toes!

Cousin Conference (4/11/11)

Image
Tonight Kyla and the girls drove up to Crystal City/Arlington to visit with Kyla's cousins Naomi and Nianna Light. They were both in town for different conferences - Naomi on a medical conference and Nianna for Closeup, a government conference. Naomi was done in time for dinner, so we met at our favorite Chili's in the area, close to Nianna's hotel. We had a great time catching up! Then we left to go visit Nianna in the lobby of her hotel. Her group got back shortly after we walked into the hotel lobby. Apparently the one lady at Cut Bank Middle School whom Aunt Nancy talked with to coordinate our visit didn't come on the trip. That lady didn't tell anyone who went on the trip that we wanted to visit with Nianna in the hotel lobby. We got to see Nianna for about 3 minutes before they forced her to go into a workshop session. In those 3 minutes, we got this picture. Naomi told Nianna's main teacher from Cut Bank and the guy from Closeup who made sure Nian...

Walk MS (4/9/11)

Image
This morning we walked for the National MS Society. So far Kyla has raised $300! Kyla's inspiration for walking was her college roommate Jeni Mullenix . Jeni has been diagnosed with MS-like symptoms in 2004 and has been episode-free for almost a year! Kyla's reason for joining Team Epiphany (Lutheran Church) is that fellow a Young Families mom Denise Shoemaker was officially diagnosed earlier this year. She started having symptoms in 2003, but this year was her official diagnosis. Today she walked without feeling in her right thumb, index and middle fingers. She is trying to learn how to be a lefty. We had a chilly start this morning, so the girls got all bundled up for the five mile walk. Patty, Taylor and Eddie Craig rode with us so we had company and knew we were in the right place! While we waited for the rest of our team to arrive, the kids enjoyed the bouncy castle. Here is Team Epiphany before we found Kelly Schriner . Here is all of Team Epiphany! We had a great t...
