Sikorski Saga

Both girls are napping today! Since Luella turned two, we can count on one hand how many naps she's taken. VBS from 5:30-8:00pm is really taking it's toll on the girls.

Last night Mark Yeary and Joanna Tayber spent the night. Mark is on vacation and helping to move Joanna's things from New Jersey to North Carolina so they can all be moved to Kansas together. Smiles without lollipops! Aiden came over for a play date in the afternoon. They all played piano. They made up their own song to play! Kyla is one of five teaching Preschool Vacation Bible School. Kati is in her class. Luella bumped up to the Kindergarten class because her Brown Bear classmate Keira Moorhead was in that class, and Taylor Craig too! Luella had a blast being one of the big kids!

It's Pizza, PJ , Movie Night and Kati decided to lay on the ground next to Goobers. He stretched out a paw as if to give her a hug! Luella decided to share some love with Goobers. Lots of love for the putty cat!

Luella's BFF Paige Roden and her family are going to spend a month in England and France visiting their grandparents. We had to have one last backyard pool play date. Silly faces! Sweet faces! Sweet faces with Olivia, Paige's older sister. Silly faces from all four girls! Smiles! Have a great time visiting your grandparents! We will miss you!

This year we decided to stay really local for the 4 th of July. We decided to watch the hometown parade, going right past our church. We saw the Shoemaker Family as we were trying to park and asked if we could park in their driveway. We all went to watch the parade together. Tim, Luella, Kati, Denise, Lucas and Tom. Aleksa and Caitlyn had to be a bit closer to the action. Girl photo! Luella is giddy with excitement! There was a cool old police cruiser in the parade. And a HUMVEE. And the Chick- fil -A cow. Kati is helping Tim with the BBQ, just by hanging around. Kiss the cook! Burgers, hot dogs and mushrooms, what could be better on the grill for today? Uncle Phil and Aunt Becky joined us for dinner. We went to Dolphin Beach in Montclair for fireworks. This is just around the corner from Uncle Phil and Aunt Becky's house. If you look closely, you can see Luella at the concrete dolphin. Aunt Becky kept our row of chairs safe while the kids played and Tim went to find water...

We got up too late to go to church this morning, so we went to a brunch in Historic Occoquan . Then we headed to Mason Neck State Park to play and go fishing. Luella played on the balance beams. Kati loves to jump off the balance beams. Time to go fishing! Tim got the girls all set up with their bait and poles. Such diligent little fisher-girls. There are shells to collect, so attentive fishing only lasts a few minutes. Ballet poses in the sand and more shell collecting. They mostly caught seaweed today. It was a GREAT day!

There is a country music artist Trace Adkins with a new song, "Just Fishin' " about a dad and daughter going fishing. It's very sweet. Tim took the girls "just fishing" so Kyla could finish painting the rest of the first floor of the house. Kati loves the ducks. She was brave enough to hold the fish she caught! Luella caught a fish too! She was brave enough to hold her fish too! Rainbow sherbet makes little girls smile! Thanks for taking us fishing Daddy!
