Happy Birthday America! (7/4/11)

This year we decided to stay really local for the 4th of July. We decided to watch the hometown parade, going right past our church.
We saw the Shoemaker Family as we were trying to park and asked if we could park in their driveway. We all went to watch the parade together. Tim, Luella, Kati, Denise, Lucas and Tom.
Aleksa and Caitlyn had to be a bit closer to the action.
Girl photo!
Luella is giddy with excitement!
There was a cool old police cruiser in the parade.
And a HUMVEE.
And the Chick-fil-A cow.
Kati is helping Tim with the BBQ, just by hanging around.
Kiss the cook!
Burgers, hot dogs and mushrooms, what could be better on the grill for today?
Uncle Phil and Aunt Becky joined us for dinner.
We went to Dolphin Beach in Montclair for fireworks. This is just around the corner from Uncle Phil and Aunt Becky's house. If you look closely, you can see Luella at the concrete dolphin.
Aunt Becky kept our row of chairs safe while the kids played and Tim went to find water and treats.
Kati got Uncle Phil out on the "dance floor" to the DJ'd music they had playing before the fireworks.
Kyla panned around the beach for the whole experience. It wasn't as crowded as she thought it would be.
The guys settled in for the fireworks display.
Smiles all around! We love fireworks - now.
Oooh!
Ahhh!
Kyla tried to get every one's reactions to the fireworks. Kati thought it was too loud and needed Kyla to cover her ears the entire time.
Too loud Mommy!
Very impressive for a small town fireworks display!
Still too loud Mommy!
Out in the parking lot, we threw a lot of popping fire crackers. It was a good time waster waiting for the traffic to clear.
We lit the sparklers and sang Happy Birthday to America!
USA! Sparklers are a lot of fun!
The last sparkler. All our fireworks fun is over until next year!
