We wish you a peaceful Christmas and a blessed New Year! Here is a recap of our busy year.                 In January Tim built Kati her very own big girl bed shaped as a castle. We were gifted a piano from Kyla’s cousins Tom and Francis Larsen. Kyla and Luella started piano lessons with Ms. Annemarie Landry shortly after we got our new-to-us piano. Kyla helped put on Luella’s preschool Christmas party which was postponed due to snow. Kati got her first haircut and Luella got bangs. Tim deployed to Nairobi, Kenya to work in t...

Sigrid Leaves Her Mark (12/30/11)

Image
We came home to find that Sigrid Evers left her mark in the house! She made a Luella face to show how she picked out her clothes at night. She also left lots of pictures around the house for us to find! It was fun seeing what the Evers left the night they stayed at our house while we were in Minnesota!

See you later Minnesota! (12/29/11)

As we leave Minnesota, the girls had to stand on the little patch of snow. It might be the most snow they see all winter. We watched the sunset as we left Wisconsin for Illinois.

Goose Tacos (12/28/11)

Tim made tacos with the goose meat that he and Dad got when they went out on their hunt. The girls kept asking for seconds! Even Mom thought they were pretty tasty and she doesn't like game meat.

Happy 60th Birthday Karen! Ears Pierced! (12/27/11)

Image
Tim and Kyla drove back to Karen and Dan's house after their hotel stay. We picked everyone up and drove to Owatonna for Karen's Famous Dave's BBQ lunch. We love the Roman candle ice cream! Hugs for Grammy! Kisses for Grammy! After shopping at Kohl's for new outfits, we drove to Medford to get Karen and Kati's ears pierced. Mom is 20 times older than Kati and they're both getting their ears pierced for the first time! Here's Mom getting her new jewelry! Looks good Mom! The other side looks good too! Kati started crying the longer it took between her ear piercing and Grammy's. Poor girl missed her nap and Claire's policy of taking care of customers at the checkout counter before piercing ears was really starting to take its toll on her. The longer Kati had to wait, the more upset she became. She wasn't very happy about waiting, but the lollipop helped. Then the piercing was a bit painful. She forgot about all the tears...

Karen's Birthday Cake and Our Christmas Present (12/26/11)

Image
Karen, Kyla's mom, decided she wanted a German chocolate cake for her 60th birthday cake. Happy 60th Birthday Mom! Fun to be surrounded by your kids and grandkids! The Happy Birthday Song with Cha Cha Cha's! Kyla tried to get fancy putting in multiple layers for the cake. Tim and Kyla took Kevin to the airport and the girls stayed with the Grunnets for the night. The Grunnets gave Tim and Kyla a night in the Marriott, using a romantic getaway Groupon. This was our room. Here was the view from our room of downtown Minneapolis. Our bathroom sink, with the rest behind the closed door. Kyla had walleye and asparagus for dinner. Tim had a salad. We had spinach dip for our appetizer. For dessert, we had dessert pizza. The room also came with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! We had fun using the hotel's hot tub and sauna with a fast dip in the pool to cool off. It's good to be back in Minnesota!
