Eventful Day. (12/17/11)

Image
Today in karate, Luella kicked as high as she could (over her head) and was awarded a star to wear on her belt! She was so excited to see that her hard work is being recognized! It was a very sad day today as our favorite bottle opener broke. Tim worked very hard in Colorado Springs from 2002-2005 (with two deployments in that time) to earn this bottle opener. The Old Chicago restaurant has an extensive beer list and a tour of 110 beers. Every time you try a new beer, it is added to your card and there are a few rewards along the way. This bottle opener was one of those rewards. Once you drink 110 beers, your name is added to the "Hall of Foam" on a plaque. Somehow Tim's drink card was erased after we moved from Colorado Springs, even more disappointing was that Tim had about 100 beers on his card. If we ever move back to a place that has an Old Chicago, Tim will have to start all over again.

Purple People Eater's Christmas Party (12/16/11)

Image
Today was Luella's class's Christmas party! Penny Clark, Tiger's mom, read the Christmas story. The kids acted it out using our Little People Nativity set while she read. Then it was time to make crafts. They made Baby Jesus in the manger! Penny was in charge of this craft. Then they made reindeer puppets with their cutout hands as the antlers. Here's Luella and her reindeer. Myles' mom Megan engineered this craft. Andrew's mom Veronica helped the kids make reindeer food to help Santa's reindeer find their way to our houses. Karen Stokes, the preschool director, came by in her snowman hat. Since these were the big kids, they were trusted with birthday candles on their Jesus' birthday cupcakes. All the kids had to show off their tongues dyed green from the frosting. Here's Luella. Kati got to come to her big sister's class to help out, and lucky girl got in on the snacks and some crafts. Here is Emily Dang. An...

Blueberry's Christmas Party (12/15/11)

Today we had the Blueberry Christmas Party! Here they are making the reindeer frames Kyla engineered. Patty Craig is helping Eddie on this side of the table. Ashlyn even came to her big brother's class Christmas party. Here is Lisa, Chase's mom helping paint his frame. Kati took her turn tossing the bean bag into the chimney. Hugs for Chase and Kati! Freeze dance! Lisa had the kids decorate ice cream cones to look like Christmas trees. Kati thought hers was too pretty to eat. Kyla made a veggie Christmas tree for the kids. The cheese presents disappeared quickly, the rest of the veggies, not as quickly. Marc's mom Rhina made traditional El Salvadorian Christmas treats. They were delicious! Here are the finished reindeer frames! The boys are cute! The girls adorable! The rest of the boys are handsome! Chase's mom Lisa read the "Gingerbread Man" and the kids passed presents every time she read the word "ran...

Kati's Christmas Tap Dance (12/14/11)

Image
Kati will also be gone for her official Christmas Dance Recital, so Kyla videotaped her dress rehearsal. The kids tap danced to "Frosty the Snowman" and Kati has the best expressions in this video! Kati was cuter in the first video. This one shows more of her classmates.

Rudolph, Soldier and Dance Recital (12/13/11)

During preschool, Kati made Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer antlers. She even got a little red nose!  Here's a lighter picture showing that the antlers are cutouts of her hands. Luella's Advanced Combo (Ballet and Tap) class did their dress rehearsal for their Christmas recital. We will be out of town for the real Christmas party, so we got to tape the dress rehearsal.  Luella decided to wear Daddy's blouse and boots tonight. These girls are so stinking cute!
