Blueberry's Christmas Party (12/15/11)

Today we had the Blueberry Christmas Party! Here they are making the reindeer frames Kyla engineered.
Patty Craig is helping Eddie on this side of the table.
Ashlyn even came to her big brother's class Christmas party.
Here is Lisa, Chase's mom helping paint his frame.
Kati took her turn tossing the bean bag into the chimney.
Hugs for Chase and Kati!
Freeze dance!
Lisa had the kids decorate ice cream cones to look like Christmas trees.
Kati thought hers was too pretty to eat.
Kyla made a veggie Christmas tree for the kids. The cheese presents disappeared quickly, the rest of the veggies, not as quickly.
Marc's mom Rhina made traditional El Salvadorian Christmas treats. They were delicious!
Here are the finished reindeer frames!
The boys are cute!
The girls adorable!
The rest of the boys are handsome!
Chase's mom Lisa read the "Gingerbread Man" and the kids passed presents every time she read the word "ran".
The kids were excited to rip into their presents! Patty had a closet full of Oriental Trader items for Christmas and was happy to give them to the kids.
Kati was on a sugar high!
The church we are member of, Epiphany Lutheran Church, gives pastoral stoles to people when they are baptized in our church. This symbolizes that we are all ministers and ambassadors of God. Kyla made this stole for James Nathaniel Schriner who will be baptized on December 18, 2011.

KIDS!

Luella picked out her own outfit. She was cold, so long sleeves and pants. Then she was hot, so flip-flops. She loves her hat, so that worked in her mind too. Katja just looking cute, so had to take her picture too! Bath time for the girls and Luella decided that making Katja's hair stick straight up means she's a boy. We really don't know where she gets this from! Sorry if you're offended by the baby nudity/ inadvertent mooning.

Tim plays Army in WV.

This is the Center for National Response. It's right off I-70 in West Virginia. It was part of the interstate, but the tunnel thru the mountain was too difficult for the state to maintain , so they let people train in there. They can make it rain, blow wind up to 40 mph, fires, explosions, all kinds of awesome training. Here's Tim's company at the entrance to the tunnel. Tim was playing Army while we were hosting Ginger before her big move. Tim and April Miller - team leaders discussing their missions from the day. Tim and his company commander, MAJ Alex Lovase discussing football, or something. Take cover! They have paintball gun attachments to their weapons so you can see where you got hit. One of the missions was to rappel down this hill... Then wade thru this tunnel for 1/4 mile in icy cold water to get to the objective site... As you can see, it was a really long day. Tim was the commander for this mission. The Soldiers had to traverse thru a collapsed tunnel....

Early Birthday Celebrations! (8/6/11)

Image
Kyla found Goobers sleeping on Kati's diaper changing table this morning. He was so cute laying there, Kyla had to get the girls in on a the picture too. We decided to spend this Saturday afternoon celebrating Kati's birthday. We went to see Cars 2 in the movie theater. It was cute, but like most sequels, the original was better. Kati had a coupon for a free meal to Famous Dave's. It came with a Roman candle! Look at the shocked expression on her face with the BIG CANDLE! Kati tried to blow out her candle, but it just wouldn't stop! Luella on the other end of the flames wondered if she really needed her eyebrows! This kid loves her ice cream! Happy early 3rd birthday Katja Johanna!
