Katja's Parent/Child Swim Lessons and Library

Katja also took swimming lessons the whole month of July, just Tuesday and Thursday mornings. It is a parent/child class, so we had to wait until Grammy had a Tuesday morning off to get photos. 7/20/10
HI! We're getting ready to start!

Singing "If you're happy and you know it, get your ____ wet" to get used to the water. Katja wanted to skip that song and just jump in every day!

Katja's swimming lessons were at the community center and connected to the building is the Buckham Memorial Library where we did the summer reading program. Luella and Karen waited for us while we showered and changed.

Fancy Nancy books are always fun to read. Almost as much fun as Maisy books.

Half-way through the book, we had a fire drill. Luella's first fire drill and she was terrified something really wrong happened.

After playing with the kids, she got over her fear. Although when the "all clear" was given, she didn't want to go back inside to check out more books.

Katja's favorite warm-up song, The Hokey Pokey!

Tigger jumps get this kid everywhere in the pool.

Practicing kicking legs.

Katja loves that she gets to splash her arms in the pool! Big raindrops!

Class always ended with playing with the beach ball. Katja got more power when she kicked the ball.

Mom's camera captured better videos. Here is Katja floating on her tummy and sometimes blowing bubbles!

Katja wasn't a fan of the back float.

Katja loved playing motorboat! Kyla thinks it's funny that every place we've done swimming lessons plays motorboat differently.

So far the best way to get Katja to practice alternating arms is throwing a toy and reaching for it! These instructors are smart!

This should have been a picture, but we're all done with class! Katja finished her session of swimming lessons on July 29, 2010.
