Luella's second to last day of swimming lessons 7/28/10

She started by blowing bubbles, then bouncing to the wall and practicing the back float.

Then she moved on to gliding on her front. We told her she'd glide better if she put her face in the water, but that wasn't going to happen!

Not to be outdone, Katja had to glide on the sidelines. Kyla found all summer it was easier to let Katja attend Luella's swimming lessons in a swimsuit, rather than the tantrum of getting out the door still dressed in the clothes she'd been wearing all day.

Luella gliding with the back float.

Luella actually putting all the pieces together - arms reaching and pulling, legs kicking - and she's SWIMMING! Admittedly it does look like the doggy paddle, but it takes a lot of coordination to get to this point! We're proud of you Luella!

Katja gets bored easily and spends most of Luella's swimming lessons using Kyla as a jungle gym. No wonder Kyla was so tired at the end of Luella's swimming lessons. A whole month of wrestling Katja while trying to pay attention to Luella.

Luella doing the back crawl! Great job Luella! Now if your teacher didn't have to hold on to you, you'd be swimming like a fish.

Luella's class' version of playing motorboat is just a bit different than Katja's class.
