Beach and Birthday Party Day!

Breakfast for Sigrid and Luella. They woke up on the right side of the bed!
Katja made a "castle" with the foam blocks and was very proud of herself!
Soren is proud of Katja's castle too! Look as his smile!
This was Katja's second time being near the Atlantic Ocean, so Kyla insisted that she had to get in and touch the water this time, since she missed out last time.
That's really cold water!
Touch the water Kati!Paige took a close-up of Kyla and Kati after touching the Atlantic Ocean.
Tim took a picture of another couple, so Kyla took a picture of Paige with the kids. They were so cold on the boardwalk. but nothing a trip to the Candy Kitchen and Dogfish Brewery couldn't fix!
Back at the Evers, Sigrid had a birthday party! Happy 4th Birthday Sigrid!
Soren loves his big sister's birthday cake!
Kati found the glasses with nose in the dress-up box. Looking silly!
The party went outside for a game of freeze tag.
The dads got roped into giving their girls rides.

Luella picked out her own outfit. She was cold, so long sleeves and pants. Then she was hot, so flip-flops. She loves her hat, so that worked in her mind too. Katja just looking cute, so had to take her picture too! Bath time for the girls and Luella decided that making Katja's hair stick straight up means she's a boy. We really don't know where she gets this from! Sorry if you're offended by the baby nudity/ inadvertent mooning.

This is the Center for National Response. It's right off I-70 in West Virginia. It was part of the interstate, but the tunnel thru the mountain was too difficult for the state to maintain , so they let people train in there. They can make it rain, blow wind up to 40 mph, fires, explosions, all kinds of awesome training. Here's Tim's company at the entrance to the tunnel. Tim was playing Army while we were hosting Ginger before her big move. Tim and April Miller - team leaders discussing their missions from the day. Tim and his company commander, MAJ Alex Lovase discussing football, or something. Take cover! They have paintball gun attachments to their weapons so you can see where you got hit. One of the missions was to rappel down this hill... Then wade thru this tunnel for 1/4 mile in icy cold water to get to the objective site... As you can see, it was a really long day. Tim was the commander for this mission. The Soldiers had to traverse thru a collapsed tunnel....

Early Birthday Celebrations! (8/6/11)

Kyla found Goobers sleeping on Kati's diaper changing table this morning. He was so cute laying there, Kyla had to get the girls in on a the picture too. We decided to spend this Saturday afternoon celebrating Kati's birthday. We went to see Cars 2 in the movie theater. It was cute, but like most sequels, the original was better. Kati had a coupon for a free meal to Famous Dave's. It came with a Roman candle! Look at the shocked expression on her face with the BIG CANDLE! Kati tried to blow out her candle, but it just wouldn't stop! Luella on the other end of the flames wondered if she really needed her eyebrows! This kid loves her ice cream! Happy early 3rd birthday Katja Johanna!
