Katja's First Haircut! (Luella got one too.) 1/8/11

We woke up to a fresh blanket of snow this morning!
Kyla went ahead and shoveled the driveway for Tim. He flew in from North Carolina this morning. As she shoveled, she realized that Tim missed out on shoveling this winter, yet again.

Not only is Katja getting her first haircut today, but we're trying to see if she wants earrings today too. As soon as she asks to get her ears pierced without prompting, she gets them.

Now asking Kati if she'd rather have earrings or pancakes. Tim was in North Carolina all last week and got home early this morning. Of course, Daddy's pancakes win!

Luella discusses the new haircut she wants.

Kati is showing off her last day with her baby hair still on her head. She and Luella bumped heads and Kati got the busted lip.

After Rysa's birthday party, we went to Simply Spa-Rific in the mall to get the girls' hair cut. Luella got her bangs and just longer than shoulder length hair.Luella showing off her new length and how most of her blonde hair is gone. She is now really a light brown, no longer a dark blonde.

KIDS!

Luella picked out her own outfit. She was cold, so long sleeves and pants. Then she was hot, so flip-flops. She loves her hat, so that worked in her mind too. Katja just looking cute, so had to take her picture too! Bath time for the girls and Luella decided that making Katja's hair stick straight up means she's a boy. We really don't know where she gets this from! Sorry if you're offended by the baby nudity/ inadvertent mooning.

Tim plays Army in WV.

This is the Center for National Response. It's right off I-70 in West Virginia. It was part of the interstate, but the tunnel thru the mountain was too difficult for the state to maintain , so they let people train in there. They can make it rain, blow wind up to 40 mph, fires, explosions, all kinds of awesome training. Here's Tim's company at the entrance to the tunnel. Tim was playing Army while we were hosting Ginger before her big move. Tim and April Miller - team leaders discussing their missions from the day. Tim and his company commander, MAJ Alex Lovase discussing football, or something. Take cover! They have paintball gun attachments to their weapons so you can see where you got hit. One of the missions was to rappel down this hill... Then wade thru this tunnel for 1/4 mile in icy cold water to get to the objective site... As you can see, it was a really long day. Tim was the commander for this mission. The Soldiers had to traverse thru a collapsed tunnel....

Early Birthday Celebrations! (8/6/11)

Image
Kyla found Goobers sleeping on Kati's diaper changing table this morning. He was so cute laying there, Kyla had to get the girls in on a the picture too. We decided to spend this Saturday afternoon celebrating Kati's birthday. We went to see Cars 2 in the movie theater. It was cute, but like most sequels, the original was better. Kati had a coupon for a free meal to Famous Dave's. It came with a Roman candle! Look at the shocked expression on her face with the BIG CANDLE! Kati tried to blow out her candle, but it just wouldn't stop! Luella on the other end of the flames wondered if she really needed her eyebrows! This kid loves her ice cream! Happy early 3rd birthday Katja Johanna!
