WDW Day 2, Epcot 11/30/10 (Pt. 1)

Little known fact: Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus are best friends. Around Christmas time, Mickey Mouse and Santa discuss whether or not the girls have good behavior at the parks and if they have been good, the girls get presents. They were good at Magic Kingdom!
The girls got figurines of Belle and Cinderella and water bottles with Tinker Bell and Minnie Mouse.
We headed to EPCOT and our first ride of the day was the Sea ride with the Finding Nemo crew. Totally awesome ride as part of it shows a real aquarium with real fish and the computer generated Nemo fish look like they are swimming right along with the real fish!
Waiting to go into Turtle Talk with Crush, Luella and a sting ray had a staring contest. Another great show where the computer generated Crush interacts in real time with us, the live audience!
Then we went to see the aquarium and marveled that the rock formations were in Mickey ear formations!
After a potty break, before going to see Minnie Mouse and the rest of the gang, we stopped to see Chip and Dale! Kati had so much fun playing with them!
Luella was distraught that she didn't get to see Minnie Mouse right away. We tried explaining "opportunity" and shorter lines. Didn't matter.
Then we saw the whole gang on our first visit to EPCOT!
First up, Mickey Mouse!

Luella loves Pluto. At the time, Kati seemed to be okay with Pluto, but the pictures say something else.

Hugs and checking each other out. Kyla had to step in to get everyone to look at the camera.
Finally all smiles again as we wait to meet Goofy.

Luella picked out her own outfit. She was cold, so long sleeves and pants. Then she was hot, so flip-flops. She loves her hat, so that worked in her mind too. Katja just looking cute, so had to take her picture too! Bath time for the girls and Luella decided that making Katja's hair stick straight up means she's a boy. Tim plays Army in WV.

This is the Center for National Response. It's right off I-70 in West Virginia. It was part of the interstate, but the tunnel thru the mountain was too difficult for the state to maintain , so they let people train in there. They can make it rain, blow wind up to 40 mph, fires, explosions, all kinds of awesome training. Here's Tim's company at the entrance to the tunnel. Tim was playing Army while we were hosting Ginger before her big move. Tim and April Miller - team leaders discussing their missions from the day. Tim and his company commander, MAJ Alex Lovase discussing football, or something. Take cover! They have paintball gun attachments to their weapons so you can see where you got hit. One of the missions was to rappel down this hill... Then wade thru this tunnel for 1/4 mile in icy cold water to get to the objective site... As you can see, it was a really long day. Tim was the commander for this mission. The Soldiers had to traverse thru a collapsed tunnel....

Early Birthday Celebrations! (8/6/11)

Kyla found Goobers sleeping on Kati's diaper changing table this morning. He was so cute laying there, Kyla had to get the girls in on a the picture too. We decided to spend this Saturday afternoon celebrating Kati's birthday. We went to see Cars 2 in the movie theater. It was cute, but like most sequels, the original was better. Kati had a coupon for a free meal to Famous Dave's. It came with a Roman candle! Look at the shocked expression on her face with the BIG CANDLE! Kati tried to blow out her candle, but it just wouldn't stop! Luella on the other end of the flames wondered if she really needed her eyebrows! This kid loves her ice cream! Happy early 3rd birthday Katja Johanna!
